About Me
My Art…
I am in awe of this world. I love nature: the tiniest creature, the mischievous ocean, how the sky conjures emotion, and the way of light. Also, being human fascinates me: growing, exploring and learning. Paintings are metaphors through which I express my revelations and share what I find beautiful and interesting in the world. Loosely, usually in acrylics, testing my faith, as scattered strokes give way to something legible and then beautiful, I give myself permission to create. I choose pigments and subjects intuitively. Sometimes letting pops of colour escape and surprise from beneath the surface. Art teaches me to trust my own process and knowing.
My life…
I’m a Toronto native, born and raised, now living on Hornby Island, BC. I have always loved making art. However, I wasn’t always able to see it’s value. After graduating highschool, I pursued a career in the sciences, studying Biology on Canada’s east coast and then attending veterinary school in Grenada, BWI. After several years of practicing as a vet in Toronto, I realized I had chosen a career that was wonderful on paper, but would never bringing me true fulfilment…
In 2014, I left my profession and took a trip to South East Asia, where I also happened to meet my amazing husband. It was there that I was able to reconnect with my childhood passion for art, painting, drawing and learning along the way. And so began a new phase of my life. Amidst having and raising our two daughters, I establishing myself in a new career as a Life Coach, and supplemented my love for art with courses in drawing and painting, at the Toronto School of Art. It wasn’t until we moved our little family across Canada, to Hornby, Island, BC, in 2020, that I started a more rigorous painting practice. On Hornby, I fell in love with painting landscapes. The West Coast is an endless source of inspiration. Living closer to the earth and its inhabitants is heaven for me. And I aspire to share this incredible place with the rest of you, through my art.
Life Coaching…
I discovered life coaching at around the same time I rediscovered art. Both give me an immense sense of purpose.
As with my art journey, transforming the rest of my life involved a great amount of reflection, courage and work. Work that I fell in love with. The inner workings of the mind and human experience have always enthralled me. Illuminating the magnificence in others and empowering them to move past self-limitations, is also something I’ve always done naturally. This was true in my personal relationships and also a veterinarian; I loved my role coaching my clients to make heart-centred, medically informed decisions on behalf of their pets, especially during times of duress.
When I discovered there was an accredited program that could train me to do this professionally, I lit up in a way I had never experienced. Since becoming a certified Co-Active Life Coach, I have helped so many individuals seeking to elevate and transform their lives. Now, both coaching, art and bring me true career fulfillment.
My coaching website is currently under construction; however, for now, if you are interested in knowing more about my 1:1 coaching program, please utilize this site’s “Contact” page to connect. I’m always happy to answer your questions about coaching or any of my services.
